Re: Wheel Polish

I think the alloy of the wheel itself will have an effect on which polishes work well and the results you will get. The original alloy wheels are quite ""hard"" and difficult to get a very good finish. At the other end of the spectrum my 17" wheels are Boyd Coddington from 2...

Re: What did you do with your car today/weekend?

My son did a school project on air filters on my car a few years ago, cold air reduced the air temp at the filter by up t0 20C. Unfortunately the cold air version used a different filter housing and the power actually went down and our conclusion was that the filter housing configuration was quite i...

Re: Crashed Mk I Interceptor for sale in NZ

Sorry Richard, only had casual chats with the Austin group, they were a jovial, enthusiastic group having a good day out at the show.

Crashed Mk I Interceptor for sale in NZ

Sorry to see this for sale over here. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/other/other/listing/3518149879?bof=1LfF9lZK The car has been to a couple of casual shows out here with the last time I saw it in 2020. I don't have any details of the incident but good to see the passenger area survived we...

Re: 123 / 3660 Restoration restarted

Hi Trevor, Good to hear things going well. I have some thoughts and experience of a variety of rear suspension changes but it's a bit like asking for a piece of string - what size, how long, what are you going to use it for and does it have to be the same piece of string the original had. If you hav...

Re: 123 / 3660 Restoration restarted

Nice curves Trevor. Glad you are having fun with the car. The 440 does want to make good torque with little mods. Mine produced 691Nm a few years ago, original bottom end (with many miles) mild head porting, Edelbrock Performer intake, Carter/Edelbrock carb and S&S headers. Doesn't match your HP...

Re: wonder polish

Agree Keith they are 2 different animals, but if you are not in the position to use proper ceramic coating for whatever reason the newer ""ceramic infused"" waxes are very good and in my case provided better protection and gloss than a conventional wax with far less effort. I hav...

Re: wonder polish

Agree with Colin and Keith, ceramic coatings do provide a great finish and protection providing you do all the correct prep work and application - and make sure you get the right instructions for the product you use - they do not all behave the same. As a part way method I have used ceramic wash and...

Re: Richard Hammond's The Smallest Cog - Interceptor MKII Restoration

Hi Fishboy,

Thanks but still no luck - it now says the video is unavailable due to copyright claim by Discovery Communications. I guess I will just have to wait until it comes on our Discovery Channel here in NZ, might be a regional issue.

Re: Richard Hammond's The Smallest Cog - Interceptor MKII Restoration

The first half looked good - then Youtube decided to kick me out saying it is a Private video that needed a sign-in.
I tried to open again but only got the sign-in option - is anyone else having this problem?

And don't even mention the million tons of imported coal last year to handle electrical surges/shortfalls.

Looks very clean Julian, did you have working A/C before? or was it replacing a dead system?
