Re: Interceptor and FF Drag Coefficients anyone?
Hi John, The information below is from Race Technology data loggers web site. They state the numbers are from users input so use with caution. If you dig through their help page it describes how to do a roll down measurement with their equipment but a simple phone app should work just for a roll dow...

Re: My New Interceptor - '72 Mk 111, 133-5597
Hi Rocky, Seems to be many ways to do this. I prefer a wheels on method, quicker to do and makes sure the ride height is correct and easy to simulate different loads. For Camber and Castor I use a Deco Camber/Castor gauge from Speedway and using its magnet hold on a steel plate, remove the wheel emb...

Re: Name that car
Toyota Alphard or similar, they had some in the import car lot when I was looking to upgrade my BMW. Great to be driven around in from what I saw, luxury people mover.

Re: My New Interceptor - '72 Mk 111, 133-5597
Thanks Rocky etc. Glad to hear my understanding is basically correct. With all my shims in place in the front of the ball joint, max castor, I get +2 deg on one side and +1 3/4 deg on the other side. My manual says 2 deg + 1/4 deg. Ideally I would have liked to try + 2 1/2 deg on both sides to see w...

Re: My New Interceptor - '72 Mk 111, 133-5597
Hi Rocky, looks great. Have you had an alignment done yet? I notice on the assembled picture you have all your caster spacers and shims on the front side of the ball joint. My US Mk III is the same on both sides yet It still does not reach the nominal caster in the manual - wondering if yours is the...

Re: Mk3 Interceptor 'Restmod' on Ebay
Very nice with some interesting touches. I do wonder how long the exhaust down pipes will last with that stance though?

Re: Inlet/exhaust port matching - worth it?
Agree the pocket porting is at another level, a seat of the pants benefit when I had mine done. I think the matching benefit would depend on how bad it is, there must be a point where mismatches will reduce flow capacity which of course depends on the application. I did a dyno exercise some years ag...

Re: Inlet/exhaust port matching - worth it?
Agree with Rocky, WILL be better and personally I think you would quite easily find the difference on the dyno. However I do think 6 to 8 hours is a bit optimistic!! The one item to be careful with is to understand exactly where the inlet and exhaust manifolds are when bolted down, the gasket is not...

Re: E10 Petrol
Yeah too right! it's easy to slip into our own context with general comments!
I had my heads worked on a long time ago in the US and they said it should give me about 9.2 - don't know how accurate that is either but definitely helped the performance with no issues on US gas or NZ petrol!

Re: E10 Petrol
Why would you need to run 98 RON unless you have a modified engine? I have run my Mk. 3 on NZ 91 RON for 16 years with no issues and I have a slightly increased comp. ratio (9.2:1 if I remember right!).

Re: Windscreen installation video
Agree with Chris, I had to do an install with a friend who had done many windscreens. After close to a day with strings, small slits etc. got it done but a poor job, could see where the tweaks had been made and still not a perfect fit. The next Interceptor (current one) elected not to touch it and l...

Re: E10 Fuel to be introduced from next year
Probably not a problem running with E10 but will run a little leaner. Worth a tune if you are optimising performance.

Re: Head Gasket Slot Alignment....
Rocky, I used the FelPro valley pan gasket with the heat riser blocked off on the last 2 head jobs I had to do. No adverse affects over 20+ years but wouldn't know if there was any actual power benefit. FYI came across this old picture during cleaning. The Interceptor being pressed into service as a...

Re: Head Gasket Slot Alignment....
I had read on a Mopar site in the past that you can make the holes too big which might cause poor cooling distribution and the rear of the engine/head gets undercooled? Hopefully someone with more knowledge can confirm or not. Obviously it works for you DPP. When I did mine I doubled the slot width ...
