Re: Overheating issues
This is the link to the article on head gaskets and the narrow slots https://members.tripod.com/~mopar_roadster/overheating_cure.html I have been modifying head gaskets for years and as long as you are careful there is no problem even after 100,000 miles. I open them up to the size of the holes in ...

Re: Overheating issues
There is an article in the Jensen Monday Club tech section. The gaskets with the small slots were designed to keep the heads hotter to improve (reduce) emissions. I opened my gaskets up to get more flow, it cured my “afterboil” issues when the car was shut off. You can see a bit of information in m...

Re: Overheating issues
Thank you for very much for your answers. I will have a look at the article from jensen monday club. Overheating occurs in normal driving conditions after 40 km. I have to stop due to Dashboard indication temperature. After that, I can heard that water is boiling. Il think the main reason of that pr...

Re: Water pump
It is a complete restored car and engine. We use a new Aluminium radiator with modern fans (from Martin Robey) and new hoses.slotcarone wrote:Is this a car that you have had for a long time and it was always fine cooling wise and now it is overheating or is it a new build and overheating?

Re: Water pump
I may be wrong but I don't think that's an original Chrysler 383 water pump. According to my copy of the Dodge workshop manual a 383" engine, with a 4 barrel carb, standard water pump (not air-conditioning) had 8 blades and an impeller diameter of 4.38" (111.25mm). This is the same for st...

Re: Water pump
I would go for the Flowkooler pump - have very good experience with them in all my V8 Jensen. But..... overheating is often caused by anything but the water pump......... Thank you for your answer. Yes we are checking all the different things that can cause the overheating but the difference betwee...

Re: Water pump
What do you mean by overheating? Is it just running hot which is almost normal or is it really overheating and boiling the water out? There is nothing wrong with that water pump by the way. :) It’s more the second solution. It is really overheating but i stopped before boiling the water. I agree th...

Yes ! We are allowed to go out but not too far. We must stay inside a diametor of 100km. That is a huge step forwardcolin7673 wrote:Looking really good.. your lockdown is at an end isn't it?

Re: 117/2603 & 117/2606 Sincar Jensen Interceptor
Hi,
After two and half years, we can have our first drive with 117/2606. There are many things to end (wheel painting, boot ending, interior details,...) but were very happy to drive it. It wasn’t on the road since 1974 !
