Re: NEC Show/British Motor Museum

I am sure you will have a good time, we had a trade stand at the Bicester Scramble last weekend which is organized by the same company and Helen in sales told us that ticket sales so far exceed 70,000 and this does not include on the day ticket sales. She said that they expect attendance to beat 201...

Presentation is everything, if they cannot be bothered to sort out the flat tyre what is wrong with the rest of the car.

Re: Lightweight Interceptor - is this truth?

The Car maybe at Goodwood but it is not a GRRC event and has nothing to do with Goodwood. You actually have to pay to attend the Players Events.

Re: Lightweight Interceptor - is this truth?

Grant, I can help you on this, they are definitely not Wolfrace wheels as he says in the original blurb. They look to be an old Appliance wheel from the 70’s which we used to stock, they went out of business years ago, or they may be just a regular Magnum 500 center welded to a steel wheel and chrom...

Re: International

Thank you all,
Unfortunately V8 Astons are just as expensive to fuel up as Jensens. Shame I have a tank full in the Jensen, Shame I didn’t get one of those fuel syphon pumps I saw on a post earlier this week

Re: International

We were supposed to make the trip today as well and stop somewhere close using Hotels.com. Unfortunately Eunis decided she didn’t want to play ball and shut down in lane 3 on the M25 at 3pm today. She is solely responsible for closing lane 3 and 4 for 50 mins and then a further 15 minutes while the ...

Re: Just how rare is the Interceptor, where are they all?

All Good Grant but no Virage spoiler yet, Autosport said they had one in the USA but then said they didn’t. Oselli chap at the Classic Car Show said he worked on the wide body development and he thought it was a Cosworth spoiler but that didn’t work out either. I will get there one day, just putting...

Just how rare is the Interceptor, where are they all?

Not sure if I should post this in events or general topic so have done the latter Went to the Brooklands Museum delayed New Year Gathering, to say it was packed to the limit. They were parking Classic cars in the Supercar paddock which was borrowed from the offices which were not open on Saturday, w...

Re: Rostyle wheels martin Robey

The UK regulations relates to the actual tread of the tyre, if you look down from above and you cannot see the actual tyre tread then it is legal. The bulge of the sidewall or rim is not part of the requirement. It is the tread that should be inside the arch. The most recent craze of beefing up pick...

Re: Rostyle wheels martin Robey

Vehicles in the past always had more than enough space in the wheel arch. Today it allows a wider wheel to fit without any need for body mods. JIA use a 17” wheel and I have a 17” version on my SP It allows a 235 section width tyre, sizes that were not around in the early 70’s. The original steel wh...

Re: Rostyle wheels martin Robey

Here are a few photos from an Interceptor at Jensen Service with an O/E Dunlop SPSport tyre. Steve was part way through a complete restoration. Maybe it is your car?

The other is from a tyre and wheel package going out to a Rover P5 owner.

Re: Rostyle wheels martin Robey

Glad that the new U.S Muscle wheels are gaining appreciation in the JOC. The wheel is called a Magnum 500A and originally made and produced for the Ford Mustang which has a different bolt pattern. As we had interest from the Rover community and as I had recently purchased an SP I worked with our whe...

Re: Classic cars on the road

One Capri followed by another, my Consul Capri and my daughters Ford Angia at Margate earlier this week for filming of the Sam Mendes film “Empire of Light”. Lots of other vehicles you may be able to make out but no Jensens. The director said it was to classy and vehicles of this type would not have...

Re: Mk3 on ebay

This Jensen at a showroom at West Heath Garage in Farnborough Hants. It has been there a while. They sell and service more modern vehicles so I would guess they need to move it on as a classic amongst moderns is out of place. I haven’t seen the car around the area or at any car meets, so probably no...
