Re: 1973 M Interceptor

From the photos it seems complete and quite original, surely this can't be a bad buy and I'm sure there would be some negotiation to be made on the price being asked. Bought for say 10k and with 20 to 25k spent it would be a quite reasonable prospect I'd have thought. Of course depends on condition ...

Re: Interceptor Mk III Radiator

Hi Thomas, radiator was sourced from Martin Robey and is a straight swap with no modifications required. Does not affect your aircon condenser or cooling fans. Cooling seems to be better although mine was compromised slightly because one of the fans was connected reverse way ! I also fitted a new wa...

Re: "should go up in value"

Middlebridge Scimitars are very nicely finished. Remember seeing them brand new at the 1989 Motor Fair at Earls Court!

It was certainly water tight before the recommissioning work where I upgraded to aluminium.

Cheers.

Re: London Classic Car Show Excel 18-21 Feb 2016

Will keep an eye out for the London show, looks like a good one! Visited the NEC on Friday and although we enjoyed the day it was a bit flat compared to previous visits. Club stand was great to visit and chat to folk and enjoyed looking round the Fords in hall 5 and seeing the "underdog" c...

Re: Interceptor 3 nearing completion

Hi I'd suggest advertising yourself on "car and classic" website. It's free for private sellers and you can add several photos. The site doesn't seem to attract some of the jokers that can haunt eBay and there is a wide audience throughout Europe with private buyers and dealers alike. Mayb...

Re: Mk1 Interceptor Engine Temperatures

Worthwhile also thinking about flushing out the engine block, they have a tendency to silt up. You could give the block a good flush, do the heater matrix as well via the inlet / outlet hoses. Also consider changing the thermostat for a high flow item as a precaution and certainly have the rad re-co...

Re: MOT time Again

Kevin,

Thanks for the good advice re the removal of the broken bolts, will update re progress when things get moving next week!

Manifold looks good, agreed these are a cumbersome lump of metal and tubulars would be preferable ! Don't know if anyone does them or if it's a bespoke manufacturing job...

Re: MOT time Again

Overall a pretty good result there Kev and at least you can do the work yourself and know it's being done correctly. I always find drilling out broken studs etc a bit tricky but you've done well there to get the first one out. I've discovered a broken bolt on the thermostats housing which will need ...

Re: MOT time Again

At least you are one step ahead Kevin and sounds like the rest of the car is pretty solid! Good luck with the MOT, my Mk III seems to have an issue with the manifold / downpipe joint. I'm booked in for MOT a week on Tuesday however when I tried to start the car today unfortunately it's not wanting t...

Re: New member

Gents,

Just a heads up to let you know I finally managed to source myself a MkIII.

Will do a proper thread when time permits and I've some prep to do for the MOT that's booked in after the bank holiday.

Hope to join you at some events / meets. Is there anything planned imminently?

Cheers.

Dave
