Re: Cropredy Shock

Hi Julian, The door cards are recessed to take the wooden door strips which were securely screwed in place from the reverse of the door card. To date, I haven’t seen another Interceptor with this upgrade, but it wouldn’t surprise me to learn of others out there. My car is currently undergoing some m...

Re: Cropredy Shock

I certainly agree, your car is much the same as mine other than the wooden door cappings. I’m reliably told that the door cappings were the last mod of the Mark4 upgrades and to date I haven’t seen any other Interceptor with this particular upgrade. It’s really difficult to prove one way or the othe...

Re: Cropredy Shock

I’ve since been corrected by the previous owner, Mark Maniatt. Mark tells me that OHU 1M was the last car refurbished to a Mark 4 upgrade and was the last car to leave the factory after being total refurbished from top to bottom including a full engine rebuild. Apparently, Jensen’s felt justified in...

Re: Cropredy Shock

I’m the owner of OHU 1M, and I can assure anyone interested in this car that the 33,000 miles is absolutely genuine and is proven by sequential Mot’s and invoices going back to the 70’s. I’m sure that Mark Maniatt (the current JOC Yorkshire rep who owned the car for nearly 12 years and was the previ...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

Hi everyone, I just thought I’d confirm that my Jensen Interceptor Mark 3 registration OHU 1M is for sale and is being sold by Cropredy Bridge. The car has had extensive refurbishment throughout as can be seen in some of Challengers pictures. The car has only done 33,0000 proven and documented miles...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

Hi Zac, Unfortunately not, but I will try to attend future JOC events once I’ve had the rear end of the car refurbished and detailed like the front. However, I did see this months JOC article about future concourse events and feel its a shame that there are fewer entrants each year especially now th...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

Thanks KEVIN, I’m stripping out the rear brake calipers to get them refurbished and so it’s doubtful I’ll have them back in time for the event in West Bromwich. There will be other occasions though where I will bring the car along and hopefully by then, the rear end of the car will have been refurbi...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

I picked up my Jensen Interceptor today and drove it 40 miles to Bridgnorth and back. The car handles like a new car and Jim Smith must have tuned it so that the car feels eager to go. The car also handles and drives like a modern day car thanks to all the front suspension being renewed and tightene...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

Pieman, also more politely known as Mark, is still the Yorkshire JOC representative even though he doesn’t own a Jensen. I still keep in touch with Mark and provide him with regular updates about his previous owned Interceptor. He’s always pleased to hear about the car and I’m sure he won’t be able ...

Re: OHU IM RESTORATION WORK

Great work Jim Smith. I’m the proud owner of this car. It’s great to see the car in top shape, it takes many hours of pain staking attention to bring the car to this level, but the end result means this car will last for many years to come. May I recommend JS Auto’s to other Jensen members. Jim Smit...
