Re: Ally Pally this weekend - C&SC magazine Show

Pushed it into a retail park and waited for breakdown. When a mechanic turned up it was pretty obvious he did not ha...

Re: Any club meets in Essex?

Hi Garry There is a regular meeting in Essex at the Royal Oak, Stappleford Abbotts RM4 1JL on the first Monday of the month approx 8 pm, so the next one is 7th November. Usually 5 to 10 owners attend but not with their cars except for the summer months. Just look for a bunch of old blokes (+ Jane) s...

Driving through Witham in Essex, I found myself following this Fiat Dino. A quick signal to the driver resulted in us both stopping to discuss our cars and for a photo opportunity.

Re: Here,s one for us all JML Factory Correspondence

When I bough my interceptor Mk 11 last September I bought a copy of the build records from Martin Robey. Of particular note was that the engine had at least two rebuilds at the factory and there is a hand written note " Engine rebuilt by our Mr Hartland. Should be perfect " Does anyone kno...

Re: Oops, how embarrasing !

Thanks Ian, may be looking for a recon alternator in the foreseeable future. Having now established that the alternator powers electrical systems, not the battery, it was probably the drop in revs that meant the alternator could not meet the demand therefore the car cut out. Looks like a visit to my...

Oops, how embarrasing !

DSCF5805A.jpg Recently purchased APP 220J thanks to the help of Andy at Appleyards. Being a nice day on Sunday and with a planned trip to London with the family, I decided to take the Jensen. The car was great and was no problem in the heavy traffic in the West End. Parking on Grafton Street, numer...

Re: Finally got one !

Congratulations on your purchase, but never mind the bonnet scoop, are you going to keep the Dixie air horns and the boot filling sound system ? Andy showed me the car when I was picking up my blue Mk 2 in your picture. Interesting options ! Presumably they were not standard factory fitted methods o...

Re: MK11 Interceptor on EBay

Thanks to Andy at Appleyard's, I have now bought this as my first Jensen. To those who suggested I contact Andy before buying - you were spot on. Having checked the car over it is now going back to Appleyards for a few small jobs, before I take it back to Essex. Many thanks to Roger who sold the veh...

Car Insurance in Europe

In Saturdays Telegraph there was an article in the motoring section about taking a car to Europe, specifically insurance. I was under the impression that current fully comprehensive car insurance included full cover in Europe, this is not the case. Having just renewed my insurance, my IAM insurance ...

Re: Mk III Interceptor £34,950

Hi, I am new to this forum and recently joined JOC. I am looking for a Jensen Interceptor, probably mark 111. I am looking for long term ownership and would prefer a vehicle that is mechanically sound and has a good body and interior. Has anyone seen this vehicle or has any knowledge of it's history...
