Re: Rare FF Mk3 going to auction

Alternatively I was thinking it would be a great car, as is, for an investor/collector. I do see original FFs hitting the £1m mark in the lifetime of a younger owner. At that point, you might comfortably get £750K for something like this preserved as is today. [/quote] WOW, GBP 1m! If I live long e...

Re: Rare FF Mk3 going to auction

Sold in the room £80,000. Plus premiums John P So, GBP102,000 all up and probably the dullest auctioneer presentation I've ever heard, it seems you were right earlier about easy profit for little effort!! Congrats to the new owner and I look froward to another FF hopefully being put right and back ...

Re: Cannonball is selling an FF

Ascotts1: telle me the name of your bank ! because when I bought a car at a UK auction 2 weeks ago, paying with 2 different french banks, it took in both cases 3 week days (meaning 5 including week end) before the auctioneer said 'yes, I've got the money on my account' and the banks took a fee for ...

Re: Cannonball is selling an FF

having recently acquired a nice M...ti at B....ms , I just want to remind that there is a 12,5% buyer's premium + VAT, which for a 72k "hammer price" car would mean actually 82k then you 've got to pay for storage (before you can pickup the car) , banking fees, (if your account is inot in...

Re: Cannonball is selling an FF

Hey Duncan, I empathise on personal colour choice totally, when I said striking before, I should have also added stunning, as it certainly was! It's a bit like when I changed a convertible from it's original yellow to midnight blue nearly 30years ago, which I thought was great at the time but these ...

Re: Cannonball is selling an FF

I was there today Duncan, it is a very straight, nice looking car with a beautiful under bonnet presentation! I thought the mango colour is certainly striking but I couldn't help but thinking the same effort in to repainting it the original Crystal Blue may have worked better for you?? It's a funny ...

Re: Interceptor 1 at Silverstone auctions

Guys, re the price at Silverstone auctions, the sale price of £52,875 was the total price inclusive of fees and VAT, so seemingly a very good value car given the condition and the past & present dealer asking prices....there's the quick and the dead!

Re: FF For Auction

I don't think you have to worry too much about a downturn prices being exclusive to Jensen but even in uncertain times I have seen in recent weeks a fully functioning E-type Jag go for £36,000 and another in obviously concours condition go for over £500,000, which brings to my point, that there's ca...

Re: GT 30055 For Sale at NEC Auction

On a separate note, Richard Calver's database notes that 30055 was delivered to Australia and built to Australian specification. I wonder what that means? A well travelled car then if it's back here. At least 23,000 miles more than on the odometer! It means the corduroy / velour on the seats was ma...

Re: California Dreaming / 1971 Interceptor 11 for sale

Ok, not a "totally rust free car". Now with "minor areas with any surface rust". Lol!!! We must be talking a different car or you brain surgeons with old pics must have taken them prior to me buying it 4 years ago as clearly there are no underbody holes in it now and little if a...

Re: California Dreaming / 1971 Interceptor 11 for sale

Thank you for the explanation Joerg, luckily for a surviving dry climate car such as this one from California or others from Australia, South Africa, etc, they have never been exposed to salt roads and therefore do not have the horrendous hidden rust issues riddled right through the body structure w...

Re: California Dreaming / 1971 Interceptor 11 for sale

Thank you Felix, that is about 50% of its 1000sqm. Originally it was a stables complex but we are about to start work on turning into a small personal car museum and entertaining complex... ;-)
