Re: Does matching numbers actually make a difference
The reference to the statement matching numbers usually refers to engine number matching car number. To the purist matching numbers includes all numbers hood number deck lid glove box doors all number. Matching numbers autocrats how original the car is to its original production A car can be modifie...

Re: Does matching numbers actually make a difference
Apparently it does to a significant number of people. The Jensen group are much different in their ideology across the board with changes to the originality I like that and took the liberty to add a 6 Pack to my car and changed the rear end sheet metal and tail lamps like some do with front air dams...

Re: what joint sealer?
3 m sells it also under the name seam sealer. If you open your door you will see it applied to all welded seams. Heaver welded areas like inner body panels use a brushable type. All welded areas should be seam sealed. If not then rust will creep out

Re: Engine heat evacuation syste
I just ordered a factory fan blade for correct color. I can not believe how small of fan blade area the factory original fans were made. Even with 3 fans going the volume of air was probably equal to an American 6 cylinder. I have two German 2 speed motors in my Interceptor now. One final note. I ha...

Re: What colour should the block be painted??
I have been restoring production and hand made cars full time since 1972. Just because Jensen initially Painted the engine black does not mean all engines were painted Black My 74 Drophead all original non restored when I pulled the motor It was blue in color. Possibly at some time the parent compan...

Re: Brienz Blue paint formula
Just to shed light on color matching. The tints used in the 70’s may not be all the same as today. I had to switch to European verses United States in the 70’s because we in the states could not get the Reds and Yellows correct. Trying to make a shade or hew dead on. Does anyone know the factory Sup...

I would be just as well off if you coated the door hinge pins with some good anti seize before inserting them several times before hanging the door. RacerJoe

Re: JLO 78K 128/4382
Cannonball You are missing the point. The mismatch in color is a result of not paying attention to Wetness to distance from the spray gun to the pannel. To the orientation of the pannel in relation to how it is being sprayed air pressure A fender skirt can not easily be sprayed to match a 1/4 pannel...

Re: JLO 78K 128/4382
Cannonball. I beg to differ with your statement about painting panels off car causes them to miss match color. The mis match in color is the painters doing. If the paint is mixed and stirred prior to spraying and the panel is positioned the same as on the car as well as sprayed if on the car all els...
