Re: surviving Mk1s

I don’t understand how the FB privacy rules work with this sort of link but never mind, the car has been posted about elsewhere on the forum viewtopic.php?p=273397#p273397

Re: Jensen GT KJM113P

Hi Simon KJM 113P is GT chassis number 1640/30175. It was advertised for sale in the JOC magazine in March / April 2008. The ad (see below) also states that the car was featured in Thoroughbred & Classic Cars in May 1989. It was restored 20 years ago so, as Chris says, it's likely to be around s...

Carbon Offset

After more than 3 years, 115/3484 has joined our “fleet”. The Ioniq 5 is a purchase my partner (who works for a renewable energy developer) proposed to offset a Mopar 383 stroked to 432 cu in. They are wholly different driving experiences but have a surprising amount in common. IMG_8935.jpeg To my r...

Re: Insuring Electric Cars.

We pay less than £300 / year to insure our Ioniq 5. Not significantly more than we were paying for our Seat Leon 1.8 TSI before. And the Ioniq is a lot cheaper to “fill up”

115/3484 Terry the Chocolate Orange

First proper drive today. A 160 mile round trip from Chippenham to Petersfield for a pub lunch with an old mate. Definitely a portent of times to come! The car behaved almost perfectly, a couple of very minor niggles but nothing to take the shine off 3 years of hard work by Chris Marsh Classics, Riv...

Re: surviving Mk1s

Just identified Mark from Devon second car (115/3268) that he is using as a donor for 115/2998. As it is not scrapped I have counted it as a 'possible' survivor and hit the magic 300. :P :P :P Now where are the next 7.2 needed to make the 30%? 115/2998 for sale. I think Stu Turner owned thi...

Re: 115/3484 Restoration

Thanks for your swift response Grant (as always). To clarify, what I meant was should there be a gap between the two yellow lines I've added to the image below, or should the outside edge of the door top chrome trim run seamlessly into the outer edge of the chrome trim beneath the quarterlight? Look...

Re: 115/3484 Restoration

Thanks for the positive comments, makes all the effort (and expense) seem worthwhile! Next question - is this amount of misalignment (particularly in the passenger side) between the door top and rear quarterlight chrome trims normal? I can’t see how you could adjust the door to trim inwards, as it’s...

Re: 115/3484 Restoration

Remedial work at the trimmers now finished, and the car's being transported back tomorrow to Chris Marsh Classics for completion. A few (potentially) annoying items on the snagging list, all advice most welcome: 1. The (supposedly) refurbished ammeter has stopped working. Does anyone have one (in ne...

Re: Ebay UK - new Armstrong Selectarides

These are my refurbished Selectarides - different end fitting as Chris says and possibly longer than the Humber versions? I suppose, if the ones for sale work, then it should be possible to swap out the electrics into a defunct set of Interceptor dampers? Roger at Leda Suspension would be able to co...

Re: 115/3484 Restoration

First update for a while. We’ve spent many weeks sorting the electrics and the paintwork, and all those other time-consuming fiddly Interceptor jobs - hatch trims, door and bonnet fitting etc etc. We’re nearly there, next step is to send the car back to the trimmers for some remedial work, and then ...
