Re: Building the Worlds Fastest Jensen

Regardless, if the C-V8 that Ian is working on hits the magical 200mph, it will officially be "The World's Fastest Jensen".
I wish Ian every success with his attempt(s).

Re: Jean Smith Funeral Arrangements

Thank you for sharing the deatils.
Sadly, with me being in Sydney until later in April, I won't be able to join you in person but my thoughts will be with you all.
I hope the day goes as well as possible.
Martin.

Re: FF 078 project at CCA Auction

I guess things changed a lot since 2007 but you're right about a good solid car being worth it.
It's easy to spend a LOT of money on renovations, unless you're truly capable of, and prepared to do all (or most) of the work yourself.

Blimey, that's about what I paid for my car (FF) back in 2007 :!:
(I did however spend a little extra having things restored)

Re: Jean Smith passed away last night

Like many others here, I am really upset to have heard this news. The welcome extended by both Jean and Alan Smith over many years, is one of the reasons I signed up to join the JOC in the first place. Jean supported the club throughout my membership and, well before I joined the club so she will be...

Being in Scandinavia / Norway may also mean it was a car on which the chassis plate was changed to avoid import tax... Quite well known practice at one time..

Good luck with the sale - I nearly had a heart attack seeing that you're selling your Interceptor, not realising you've got a 541 :!: Phew :!: 8)

Re: Best Version of Interceptor (Saloon) and Why?

My mk1 FF was never too hot in summer. I would drop both windows down, and had the interior heater permanently off with an isolation valve in the heater hose to be 100% sure. Hardly ever used the Webasto. I had front mounted radiator fans behind the grill. Colin Holley asked if it cooled OK, then p...

Re: Importing car to Australia

Tony Cope has certainly imported car(s) into Australia and he's worth chatting to. He's the current President of the JCCA (Jensen Car Club of Australia) as well as the Australian rep for the UK based JOC. I'm sure he'd be happy to offer friendly advice. I don't think he's very active on the forum cu...

Re: Best Version of Interceptor (Saloon) and Why?

Early MK3 with a 383 is possibly the best.
However, the MK1 has a certain look to it, both inside and out, which is quite simply hard to beat.
No air-con (usually) in a MK1 makes it too hot in the summer months!
