Re: Electric Jensen Interceptor.

Chris, you with your crazy imaginations. CO2 has no SIGNIFICANT effect because it's effect quickly tapers off on a logarithmic scale and nobody can tell you what %age of CO2 there SHOULD be in the atmosphere but it's presently at 0.042%. The (said) effect of CO2 is to trap more vapour in the atmotp...

Re: 'Residual Vehicles'

What a load of drivel and misinformed rubbish. Thank you for that comment, Chris. You are probably correct. What took you so long to respond? Usually, after a quick Google, you come on here and put us straight. You were similarly dismissive of road charging (pay-per-mile) when it was mentioned in t...

Re: Anyone else getting phishing JOC specific emails?

I just hope nobody will react to these scams. Kees Kees, It's amazing that some people do react to the 'Send me money and I'll give you millions' scams. In British Columbia there was a woman who was fooled into believing the scam and she lost her entire life savings of over one hundred thousand dol...

What an interesting shape.
Looks like if it went fast enough it could take off!

Hahahahahahaha.

You would think that if the previous owner had liked it, the car would have seen much more use.
Maybe the novelty quickly wore off?

Re: Viperceptor at Historics Auction RUF 340M

I think it needs nice shiny chrome bumpers.
Both ends.

I think C-V8s look dreadful without bumpers.
Like they're set for banger racing.

Re: Viperceptor at Historics Auction RUF 340M

I like this car much more now than I did when it came out.
BUT, only 2,496 miles?

Such a shame it has seen so little use.

I covered 3,600 miles in a three-week European holiday in 1976 with the beautiful vicar's daughter in a modified Humber Sceptre Mk II.

Re: Car is running just off the battery

You say you fitted a new alternator and regulator last September.

I think that's a rather specialist skill so I would get an auto electrician to look at the car.
Be careful of trying to do anything more yourself if this is something you are not familiar with.
You don't want it going up in smoke!

Re: VED & classic cars 40 + years

You will hear different proposals from time-to-time but governments really want to introduce road-pricing. You will pay according to each mile driven, monitored by satellite transponder, and, as an added bonus, you could be charged at different rates according to the time of day you are driving and ...

Re: Electric Jensen Interceptor.

Adrian, I think you being disingenuous to suggest that CO2 has no effect on climate temperatures. The science of CO2 absorbing heat is not new, it is over 150 years old. Scientists in the 1850s discovered that CO2 absorbs heat and even then suggested that if there was more CO2 in the atmosphere the...

Re: Electric Jensen Interceptor.

This ten-minute video comically covers the issue of reduced battery performance during very cold weather. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YKbAnOYUigo&pp=ygUObWd1eSBhdXN0cmFsaWE%3D As for battery swap-outs, that would require a spare battery for every car. As batteries presently cost about half as ...

It is a long project.

There will be another video on it later this year."

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)

"Actually, I don't think there is a "Growing chorus" at all." Then you probably watch and believe the BBC. Out there in the real world, EVs are the subject of much mirth. Especially when they catch fire and cause a catastrophe, on a ship or car park. Just give it up, Mojo! You're...
