Re: Welding perfection.

Hmm....Having watched the video, not so sure. It the process involves raising the parent metal above melting point so they fuse it's welding isn't it regardless of what is used as a filler?? Brazing, as a process, doesn't melt the parent metal, only the filler that is then drawn into the joint.....s...

Re: Motor Museum up for auction

Even though it wouldn't require an MOT it would still have to meet all the requirements of Construction and Use regs....It would also need to be registered of course which might prove interesting in itself. :D

Re: Daily Driver Classic Ideas

A couple of years back I had a lovely BMW 325 cabriolet. Lovely smooth, powerful 6 cylinder engine, slick manual box, rear wheel drive....It was a lot of things but boring wasn't one of them! :D

Re: Car cover recommendations

Just a quick update.....I had seen those ones for sale by the club but it doesn't say Healey covers are available. They are also only shown as 'showerproof' and predominantly an indoor cover with occasional outdoor use. While I can't expect any cover to be entirely waterproof, the car has to stay ou...

Re: Car cover recommendations

I would love to be able to have a wooden garage but I just have nowhere to put one!.....Looking around google, prices vary hugely however the Halfords covers look very reasonably priced and look as though they will do the job.....certainly better than what I have at the moment in any case. I hear wh...

Car cover recommendations

I have no option other than to store my Healey on the driveway and my old and tatty car cover does a fantastic job of letting the rain in and keeping it there

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, breathable outdoor cover?

Thanks

Re: Yellow Healey with Rover V8 on C & C

Very, very pretty. Although I always think of the original engine as being the main defining feature of the JH, I must admit, I don't think I would have been able to reisist that wonderfull V8 burble! :D

Re: One owner Jensen Healey Mk II.

Paul intimates that the photo's may be a little flattering but it looks a fairly complete car......There looks to be a fair bit of wob liberally applied and the seam between the rear wings and deck panel has been filled in too.....so the top side probably needs a fair bit of attention I would say......

Re: The original 541 Prototype - 60 years on

There is a technique called 'tilt shift' photography which fools the eye into thinking it's looking at a small thing close up rather than a big thing relatively far away. It involves blurring everything in the foreground AND background which also has the effect of concentrating the eye on the subjec...

Re: Reef blue Mk III project, 128/4896.

As something of an outsider and a real 'newbie' may I give my opinion? It is unfortunate, though somewhat innevitable, that the discussion revolves around 'balance sheets' and whether or not a car is economically viable, whether one will 'turn a profit' or break even. This more than anything indicat...
