Re: Head Gasket Slot Alignment.... (Heat Riser in Intake)
What is the collective wisdom regarding blocking off the heat riser in the intake manifold? Not sure by what is meant by "heat riser". I presume you are referring to the Exhaust Gas Recirculation channel that runs between the two banks? I blocked this off on my Interceptors as well as the...

Re: Head Gasket Slot Alignment....
I also opened up those slots to the full width of the port in the block. Now I have no overheating issues on my fuel injected car.

Re: electronic ignition
This makes we wonder what the Pertronix Ignitor III would have done with tacho (which WOULD be connected to coil - ), since it would also generate more than 1 spark per combustion stroke... hmmmm.... Perhaps is best then to only consider using Ignitor II (when a points to electronic conversion is ca...

Re: electronic ignition
Yep, it really looks like the tach adaptor is what is needed.
With the CDI MSD box, NOTHING else (NOTHING !!)must be connected to either coil+ or coil - unless you want everything connected to that wire to be fried proper.

Re: electronic ignition
Very big surprise came during the first test: the engine ran without any problems. Without exaggeration: Really at the first turn! The only problem is a non working rev counter. Did anybody tried an adaptor that MSD offers? IMG_1201.JPG That's excellent news Ralf!! Really glad that it has worked ou...

Re: electronic ignition
I don't know which is positive. Nothing will break if you connect wrong way round. I suspect both ways may run, but the correct way will run better, with a more stable position of the timing mark. So, just connect and turn the key. If she's not happy, swop and try again. What is VERY IMPORTANT are t...

Re: electronic ignition
The Pertronix unit is in effect BOTH a sensor and ignition amp in one unit. From a pure reliability perspective, it is better to seperate points of potential failure. I say again that the magnetic pickup in the dissy is rather unlikely to fail because its nothing but a magnet with a coil wound aroun...

Re: electronic ignition
Hi Philip, are you sure that this is the right kit? I thought that my H-Series Interceptor is equipped with an electronic distributor. Maybe 9CH-181 shouldt be the right one? https://pertronix.com/pertronix-9ch-181-ignitor-ii-adaptive-dwell-control-chrysler-electronic-distributor-8-cyl.html#.XjrScW...

Re: electronic ignition
My gut-feel is that the 440 can benefit from the multipe spark concept as offered by the Ignitor III.currywurstcarpaccio wrote:Anybody runs a Pertronix Ignitor II in a '73 Interceptor MkIII (440).
What is the right Ignitor model?
For Petronix II is seems : 91381A
For Petronix III : 71385

Re: Another 4000Km African Road Trip with Interceptor Mk3
E-type was left at home. Fan belt failed after only 50 km. Alternator conversion (not done by me) not aligned properly.
