Re: North Coast 500

Just back from doing the North Coast 500, being the tour around the coast of the top end of Scotland. Did this in my P1800 which was well suited to the route, some of which was twisting and narrow, which was great in my agile car. We live in Buckinghamshire and decided to take 15 days to enjoy the f...

Re: North Coast 500

Planning to take this trip in May, which will be in my Volvo P1800. I am aware that in the height of summer this route can be busy, and there might be considerable numbers of camper vans at times. My P1800 is a great car to tour in. It is very manageable on tight roads, with steering and brakes well...

North Coast 500

I would appreciate any feedback members could give on touring on this 500 mile route around North Scotland.
How many miles to travel per day if one wants to allow time to see the key sights?
Does it matter if travelling clockwise or reverse?
Where to stay, ie B&Bs via airbnb etc?
Many thanks

Sealing and painting concrete garage floor

I have been disappointed with my previous results to paint my garage floor. I now have a new garage and want to seal this.
The previous issues have come from the hot car tyres lifting the paint.
Solutions please?

Fire extinguishers

I am interested in any comments members have about Nano technology fire extinguishers. I have thought about buying the compact JE50/ FP50 units sold by Fire Tool or FirePal respectively. Although this unit is unlikely to be capable of putting out a major fire. It seems to me it might be able to put ...

Re: Have you ever heard about this?

There were 29 Volvo P1800 cars involved in this shipping accident. The cars were being shipped bound for Houston, Texas. 18 of the cars were in stored in Cargo Hold Number One of the freighter "Kessel", along with a consignment of Scotch Whisky. Of these 4 were so badly damaged they were s...

Re: 1962 Jensen 541 S For Sale

Frank,
Sorry if I have caused confusion on this topic.
I put my comment only as the car currently has no engine and gearbox. That being the case I was suggesting a V8 engine in place of the Sheerline engine.
Not meaning anything else.....

Re: 1962 Jensen 541 S For Sale

I do hope someone has the nerve to take this on.
In my view as there is no engine or gearbox it would be tempting to rebuild as a 541S V8, as Jensen were initially planning. There is a precedent to follow and the result would combine performance with great design.

Compact Fire Extinquisher

Has anyone experience of the Firetool JE50 Nano Technology Fire Extinguisher?
I saw this demonstrated at Bicester Scramble earlier in the year and it looked impressive for such a compact unit. A further key benefit is the lack of residue after extinguishing the fire.
Comments please.....

MK1 Int

Did anyone see the MK1 being sold by Silverstone Auctions last Saturday at the Silverstone Classic meeting?
Did it actually sell?
Although the body looked fair on top, what was it like "under"?

Looks like a definite case this did not sell.
Was anyone on the Forum at the auction?
