My Interceptor Mk1 has been returned to me after some work on door and window seals and fan upgrade as well as a repair of some crash damage .
Andy did a great job in a short time at a good price

My Interceptor caught fire!
I decided to replace the rear view mirror courtesy light bulb. Put in a new LED light, reconnected the battery and smoke started pouring out if the mirror. I isolated the battery and no harm was done. I had not realised that the LED festoon bulb was a bit fatter and had shorted out. Silly me! Van No...

Re: Mk1 for sale
It would be interesting to know more about the car. Seems good value for a driver car if the owner isn't bothered by originality, but who does want the structure to be sound

Good article. I am amazed he criticised the dip switch as he used his left foot for braking!

Re: Goodbye to Interceptor ownership
It is a good looking car, has always attracted lots of admiration and conversation and was lovely to be in and nice to drive. I did not expect a "boy racer" car. However, it would have taken a lot of money to get the 440 to be where I would have liked it to be performance wise. Ultimately,...

Re: Goodbye to Interceptor ownership
The Jaguar being half the capacity. Not sure what point you are attempting to make? My Astra GTC is as fast as an Interceptor and gets 50 mpg. But it's not an Interceptor. The point is that I was disappointed in the relative lack of performance compared to the other "GT" type cars I have....

Re: Goodbye to Interceptor ownership
I think you made a good decision if you feel like that about it: are using it less, and it is $$$ sitting there. If you wanted it to perform like an SP you would have needed still more $$$ in it. I enjoyed my first Jensen most, it went really well and I had little tied up in it which really added t...

Re: Goodbye to Interceptor ownership
The last straw was it stalling in traffic jams during the intense summer heat. The car itself was not overheating though. I have several classic cars and was finding myself using it far less than the others, whilst at the same time having the most money tied up in it. I want a car I can use whenever...

Goodbye to Interceptor ownership
It looks like my 3 years of Interceptor ownership is over. A local classic dealer has agreed to buy it. I am sad that I have no regrets, even though I am selling it for a little less than I paid for it. I decided I could not live with its temperamental character.

thanks for the updateNeil183 wrote:No, it was withdrawn from sale on Saturday morning before the auction could get into full swing that evening.
I had been to see it on Friday and other viewers were due, so looks like one of those made a good offer.
