Re: Classic cars on the road

Well then, had an appointment with a needle yesterday at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford. Sadly not on the centre circle but in the corporate hostility areas which, suprise suprise, are not being used. I decided to take the beast for a run as it was a nice day and it needed to stretch its legs. Fired u...

Jens,

Lets see if we can make it bigger and better. There may be a few nicely restored cars available by then.

Re: Spring Break Cancellation

Richard,

It is a sad but inevitable situation we find ourselves in.

I and no doubt everyone else understands the situation.

As for Spring Break next year, WHY NOT? Get it in the diary now. Onwards and upwards.

Keep smiling everyone.

Re: Abingdon Air and Country Show - New Date 11/9/2021

Now then, as we are hopefully all allowed out in September, I have had a few updates on the shows Fbook page. Seems a full flying display with the star performer being Sally B the B-17 Flying Fortress. I and no doubt many of you will have seen this beautiful machine over the years but come see it ag...

Re: Spring Break

Clive and Lindsey,

It seems to road map does not show the high road to Scotland to suit our timings.

Sadly too having to cancel as too much uncertainty at the present time.

Lets just stay safe and follow the rules eh?

Re: Was Clarkson the Top Gear Nostradamus in 2009?

Thanks Felix, Perhaps you felt the sentiment that he portrayed. Whilst I find him an "interesting" character I cannot fault what he wrote for the Sunday Times (I think) on the demise of Concorde. I grew up with things being bigger better faster and was inspired for the future. Now I am not...

Keith, I wont even respond to your post other than to say you must have been somewhere else not on this planet for the last year.

It has been HARD for a great many of us. Please consider that.

Was Clarkson the Top Gear Nostradamus in 2009?

Feeling a bit down today and for some reason searched out an old Top Gear episode that had stuck in my mind. Series 13 Episode 7.
The closing sequence when JC takes an Aston Martin V12 for a ride.
Listen to the words and the music and the scenery,

I will say no more but brought tears to my eyes.

Re: Forum traffic decline - or my bad maths

This may of course be that, like the rest of the world, we are all pretty worn out with the pandemic and just trying to stay safe and alive is far more important than posting on the JOC forum. My own personal opinion,

Re: TechnoClassica Essen 2021

Jens, No problem at all. As I said, I fully support your decision. It seems that we may have to consider similar courses of action as we go through this year. I have seen that the Bedford Festival of Motoring scheduled for June has been cancelled over here so we just don't know at the moment. Hopefu...
