Re: 115/3067 bought back from France
Hi Kev, I didn't mean skimming for more compression ratio. My shop took 0,1mm from the surface, which is 0,004". If you want to avoid the compression increase, you can use the Felpro gasket which is 0,039" instead of the original steel shim gasket which is 0,020" compressed thickness....

Re: 115/3067 bought back from France
Yes Kev, I know that the reflection of infrared heat isn't better than with Hardura only, but I hope that the extra layer gives more heat insulation (concerning heat conduction). Don't ask me what is more relevant in the engine bay: Radiation, convection or conduction. The heat shield is better to i...

Re: 115/3067 bought back from France
Have you recovered your bulkhead now, and if so do yo have photos of it done ? Yes, but not finished yet. I first covered it with a layer of heat shield. The edges were sealed with epoxy. Then I applied the Hardura. I left the steering column without covering to have access if needed and because I ...

Re: 115/3067 bought back from France
Hi Kev, Nice work. Reminds me of 2013 when I had the same thoughts about the good old glue. I don't think you could get something similar today, in times of environment protection... But what a shame that my car is still not roadworthy. The fibreglass-panel is 100% original. And yes, it shoul...

Re: Ignition timing
What is the difference between these engine series particularly between the C and D that would change the ignition timing value? Very little that I can see. From 1967 (C-Series) to 1968 (D-Series) there was the change from 516 heads to the 906 heads which means from closed chamber to open chamber g...

Re: Selectarides
When they rebuilt mine at Stevson Motors in 2013, they didn't give any warranty for the electric part of the shock absorbers (and only cleaned contacts and fitted a new plug to one unit). They did not 'rebuild' the electric part. Only the hydraulic part. It took about 4-5 months from sending the sho...

Re: Crystal Blue
Interesting, when I asked Glasurit for the paint-code in 2014, there only existed an old formula including A526 what was not produced anymore. They then mixed up a new formula for me to match their old paint. This formula is now online. It's exactly the same that Dino posted... Because the paintshop...

Re: Harold Robbins MKI Now Listed in Hemmings
This car seems to be very suspicious. No other car is advertised more often than this. The latest changes seem to be quick swaps of obviously worn parts. MKIII-wheels cheaper than new rostyles? Don't spend too much on an original air cleaner if you could make a bigger profit margin with the summit p...

I would say absolutely no chance to get that car restored (nut and bolt) for 50k. You should at least double the sum.

Re: No politics? Oh dear...
The puppet theatre that is performed by the British politics during the last weeks illustrates the real problem in British government. And no one from the rest of the EU has something to do with this. But all who think that soon the next countries will get mentally infected by the British referendum...

Well Denis,
I don't know if a discussion about fishing is ethically acceptable, you're killing the fish and the earthworms, too.
