Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

I am fairly confident the chassis is FF 119/063...... Simpler all round if this is confirmed

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

Fantastic photos :D . The peripheral tubes also lack the rear cut-in foot access recess like the John Fergusson diagram, so I am guessing the tubes are new. The early FFs didn't have the cut-in area. Does the John Ferguson picture have them? What I meant is that the John Fergusson diagram does not ...

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

I notice on SG Porters contemporary diagram of the CV8 FF he can show the front axle hanger because the oil filter cannister is missing, and a smaller radiator is fixed slightly differently than in the John Fergusson picture. I figure JML must have developed the FF further between these drawings! Al...

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

This is what I know from published data on the CV8FFs 1. JM/EXP/103 first CV8, FF mule , confirmed by Mike Jones, grey in colour. Road going as a CV8 (not as a CV8FF) registered 261 FEA 2. JM/EXP/110 Second CV8 FF experiment, Motor show car , red in colour, Road going as CV8 FF. Registered EEA 72C 3...

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

As they are saying its a 1968 car, presumably FF 119/063 (or at least its chassis number) is the donor car as it is too late for the CV8's ?

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

I made a list of all the EXP chassis years ago and found 3 CV8FF's, JM/EXP/103, JM/EXP/110 & JM/EXP/113. It now seems to me JM/EXP/103 was the mule, but the centre tube CV8 design was not suitable for the large FF unit and was scrapped/recycled. JM/EXP/110 was the peripheral tube (maybe a renumb...

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

I have JM/EXP/103 as the first CV8 (Mk I) turned into the CV8FF then scrapped, JM/EXP/110 as the CV8 FF (MkIII) rebodied at Vignale (is this on topic?)

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation

I remember Norman saying he was looking at a CV8 which he thinks the interior of the CV8FF went into. It had Piper electric windows and glass rear windows. I too think 1122 was a testbed for the FF system. Incidentally 1121 was supplied engineless to Donald Healey who put a Chevrolet 327 V8 in, mayb...

Re: RIP Sean

Sir Sean seen driving his CV8 of coursh :D. I have an anecdote about Sean Connery. A friend of mine saw Sean in a restaurant and went up and asked him if he had any good tales. Sean said "No, 'eff' off". On the way out he stopped at my friends table and simply whispered in his ear, "S...

Re: Jensen sign

Maybe a Jensen musical instrument speaker sign? Along with silversmith Georg Jensen and Jensen Motors to me they form the triumvirate of ultracool manufacturers named Jensen :)
