Re: Issue with Firefox

It might be worth noting that Apple are currently doing their best to outlaw or thwarting Facebook from compiling data on Apple users. Firefox has been caught up in this as has a large number of Apps finding it difficult to work out how to keep running the apps on Apple - Avast is one of these and C...

July Sunday 14th Chorleywood Car Show

Yes , for all you London, Bucks, Oxon and Herts members, the very friendly Chorleywood Car Show is on again. The JOC has been a prominent club display for the past 5 years among some very interesting other classics. There's usually a hog roast BBQ, beer tents and picnics ( your own or their supplie...

Re: Cylinder Head

Hi Kris You could try Middlesex Reboring Co Ltd, Lawrence Street, Mill Hill, London NW7 4JH, 0208959 1352. haven't used them recently but always top-notch in the past. You could give them a call first but I've always taken my bits in to show them what's required. They even successfully repaired a cr...

Brake Pedal Non Return

Towards the end of a long drive yesterday my car seemed a bit sluggish away from the lights. I quickly realised my brake pedal was still very low to the floor and a quick kick upwards easily released it but it kept doing it over the last 10 miles. Seems to have plenty of fluid up to the level marker...

Chorleywood Classic Car Show 15th July Sunday

This is a great chance again to see a wide range of cars from the sublime to the ordinary classics. Over the last 5 years the JOC has been well-represented with all post war vehicles attending at some time and generally being able to keep the group together if we all arrive between 9.30 and 10.15am....

Front Spoiler/Air Dam

Is there any member who knows which company made the front spoiler/air dam as seen on this "S4" or any similar variation? Some of you will know my Silver Mark III has sported an under-bumper spoiler which came off a Volvo 240 car range. This was smashed when someone crashed into my parked ...

Re: Chorleywood Classic Car Show this Saturday July 15th

A reminder for the location for this show - it's still based off the Rickmansworth Road but not now on the Chorleywood Common side but opposite down to the scouts area through the stone pillared gates. It'll be flagged anyway coming from Rickmansworth and M25 Jct 18 or from Amersham. Hope to see you...

Kimbolton Classic Car Show

All North London members are invited to join the Herts group to visit the annual Kimbolton Fayre on Sunday July 9th where we have a Jensen group stand. Let me know because you'll need a numbered ticket. It is about 7 miles west of St Neots - on the B645. hope to see some of you then. My phone and em...

Chorleywood Classic Car Show July 18th

This friendly show, which usually attracts a couple of hundred mostly interesting cars, is on again this year. Think it is the 4th or 5th year a number of us have been so why not join us on July 18th. There's usually a hog-roast on the go, drinks and an interested and friendly crowd. Hope to see you...

Grant

I meant to say I now have no idea what my compression ratio is - mainly because I don't know how to calculate such matters. I was told I knew all the parameters so just calculate it. How?

Re: how long do people own jensens?

Hi Grant The first mod I made was to get rid of the original exhaust system and put in headers - that freed up the engine so it could be "blipped" easily i.e. it could get rid of the build-up of spent gases. Probably gave an eager 20hp immediately and better fuel consumption. Cruising on G...

Re: I've had better days out. Check your nuts!

Hi Shaun, sorry to hear about your 3-wheeler but glad you were able to safely get to the nearside safety lane and no damage to you. Late last summer I left home and before half mile thought something funny going on with a rear wheel so pulled over and discovered only 1 loose nut left. Checked the ot...

Re: how long do people own jensens?

Bought my Interceptor III (a 383 "G" series) in summer 1987 so just 30 years. Still has 337bhp at rear wheels on rolling road - so a couple of not very expensive mods. Only owned my 541 Deluxe for 5 years though. Classic cars get better the longer one owns them I think. Except when you nee...
