Re: C-V8 FF Recreation
Let me add to the confusion :D Can we consider the current C-V8 FF chassis so mangled it would be better to construct a new FF chassis and transfer the bits from the C-V8 FF? Then to source the necessary bits for the C-V8 FF ftom the pool of broken cars. Effectively chassis and body of the FF would ...

Re: ROSTYLE "FAUXSTYLES"
Yes rim is forged alloy, strength to weight ratio is way better than cast. I still regret letting the BBS forged 3 piece lattice wheels go when I sold my XJ-S daily driver, and that was a long time ago. They weighed so little that when a guy at a tyre shop took one from the floor he knocked himself ...

Re: ROSTYLE "FAUXSTYLES"
American Racing have these Rostyle lookalikes in 17x7 with 120.65mm and backspace 4. They should fit straight away, not sure about any rubbing at full lock though.

Re: Engine rebuild
No wonder the engine was giving problems. Both oilways and waterways were gunked up to the point of blockage or at best partial blockage.

Re: Just to confuse - Zac's C-V8
I have a brand new motorhome 440 centerdump manifold on a shelf. I think I paid 150 USD about 10 years ago. The only real difference is that the downpipe part is slightly longer so you would have to cut and reweld the flange on the downpipe.

Re: Just to confuse - Zac's C-V8
Btw they are possible to weld unless the material has gone too thin. The trick is to heat the manifold to about IIRC 400C, weld, cool down over something like 48 hours.

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation
But the again the side slots in the bulkhead are not FF, nor the rearmost centertubes. Your assumption of a bitsa is pretty much it then?

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation
Thr grommeted hole in the footwell is for access to remove/refit the RH rearmost sparkplug. On the FF the engine sits a bit to the right so the LH grommet is not needed. The Mk 1 Int has the grommet on both sides.

Re: C-V8 FF Recreation
John, my guess is somebody with big feet and shoesize to match tried sitting in the back :) And as short as legroom is sitting in a twisted position revealed a narrow footwell as well. The only case of a manufacturer ignoring anything like that is the story about an early customer for the series 1 X...
