Re: Correct Blue Metallic Paint for a 72 MK3
Hi Martin, As Pymmie said, the old paint codes aren't always of use this many decades later. You need a modern formulation and sometimes they aren't even close to the original colour as I've discovered seaching for a modern equivalent for Brienz Blue. Having said all that, here's a formula for Royal...

Re: Brienz Blue paint formula
You could colour match with the origin of the colour, the Brienzersee (I'm assuming) That's an interesting suggestion Felix although it looks closer to Reef Blue than Brienz. Alternatively, I could go local, and get a scan of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra during a blue-green algal bloom but I sus...

Re: Brienz Blue paint formula
Thank you all for the feedback. To clarify, the mirror on the left is my existing colour (it was resprayed in the 1980’s but is very close to the original colour), and the door is PPG’s newly formulated Brienz. We’ve done spectrophotometer scans of the car but they’re only as good as the database yo...

Brienz Blue paint formula
Just wondering if anyone has an accurate paint formula for Brienz Blue? I already have a Glasurit formula from their online app. and PPG Australia created a formula for me from a colour card, but unfortunately neither are a match to the original colour. Given all the variables of screens, sunlight l...

Interceptor Convertible USA
Part of a 300 car collection at a secret location in the USA - all cars apparently for sale. If you want to cut to the chase of this 30 minute video, there's a brief view at 0:49 and a longer one at 25:30. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=49&v=Y_Wc_m06pG8&feature=emb_logo" on...

Re: GT 30055 For Sale at NEC Auction
It's actually the previous chassis number 30054 that was the sole Australian delivered GT. According to a previous owner, that car was last heard of in Queensland after being involved in a front end shunt. It had the same colour scheme as 30055. Apart from having Stromberg carbies, not sure if the A...

Re: Rhythmic vibrations from 383
Thanks Richie. It's actually a 16 psi cap but looks blank thanks to my rubbish photography. And no vacuum advance as I use a Rev-n-nator electronic ignition.
cheers,
Dave

Hi Andrew,
Re: positioning of HT leads, here's a few pics. This is how mine was when purchased so probably not the original layout. And yes, my coil has been moved to under the fuses.
Cheers

Hi Andrew,
Not trying to state the bloody obvious but are all your HT leads OK and fully connected? It's certainly got the shakes!

Re: A very special gift
Inside the back cover of my copy of this brochure is a removable specification sheet that is dated September 1973, but the brochure was probably printed earlier than that. This would've allowed the brochure to remain current while just changing the single spec. sheet. I've had my copy since December...

Re: New Build from the States
Yes the arched corners look quite good and would make the car hard to pick from original. But the angled corners are far better - a bit more aggressive and edgier - and they make the whole design more cohesive.

Re: New Build from the States
Hi Mark 1, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and progress on your Coupe's roof mods. The extra metal you've added to the top edge of the rear window opening neatly converts the rounded Jag shape into an angular one that matches the rest of the car's windows. And you've lined up the top corners of the...
