Re: TWO Int convertible projects coming to Brighwells auction in March 2024

Obviously I was being cantankerous John with my comments, as it is a lovely ole bus that just needs some time spent on it..was it this one that you bid on then?..I somehow thought it was the other one (the red one)..Still think it was a cheap car even with the problems that it has highlighted by ou...

Re: Building the Worlds Fastest Jensen

I think you can rule out the Restomod Interceptors. The aero wouldn't be stable at 180. An FF on the other hand... :D :D :D

Re: TWO Int convertible projects coming to Brighwells auction in March 2024

I had a pop at the red one. I was top bidder with a cheeky bid briefly 20 seconds before the end! The price on that jumped up a lot in the last seconds.

Re: FF 078 project at CCA Auction

Hammer £18,000 John P Blimey, that's about what I paid for my car (FF) back in 2007 :!: (I did however spend a little extra having things restored) You rightlypaid good money as well back then Martin! In 2005 I didn't get that for a pristine looking good solid Vignale. This is surely consistent wit...

Re: Just seen this

Would somewhere like Thun in German speaking Switzerland have German plates ? No, In Thun the plates have a BE prefix, the Swiss flag, and a rampant 🐻 icon! My favourite plate for coolness is Canton Uri. It is also a very cool area to live! Also German speaking. Screenshot_20240320_113428_Google.jpg

Re: SV8

Hi Sean Can you confirm the Chassis No for the write off car so that i can record it for my records - PM me if you prefer Perhaps in another 30 years the DVLA will acknowledge this cars rarity and treat it as a Classic and allow it to be properly restored - although as you say, parts will always be...

Re: Best Version of Interceptor (Saloon) and Why?

I will add to dellboys comments, which I don't disagree with (edit -apart from the bit about convertibles). All FFs are good, the later having Girling brakes, cheaper, even better. Early Mk1 iinterceptor issue being the tried and tested but more complicated front suspension from the CV8. The later M...

Re: New member advice

If you haven't bought one yet, chances are you have patience to get the right car! Do you have a suitable garage for the car to park it in? If not great, plan buying a house or whatever and take a year to research and go to events. I would go to the International and go along to a few local meetings...

Re: FF 078 project at CCA Auction

The bonnet, wings and front panel are still there so that is a good start! It might be worth a trip over to the consigner to look at all the parts with it and have a chat.

The underside looked really good on the photos. Based on those it could be a good deal for someone.

Re: Best Version of Interceptor (Saloon) and Why?

My mk1 FF was never too hot in summer. I would drop both windows down, and had the interior heater permanently off with an isolation valve in the heater hose to be 100% sure. Hardly ever used the Webasto. I had front mounted radiator fans behind the grill. Colin Holley asked if it cooled OK, then po...
