Not a GTi but a poor pic of a nice Peugeot 205 enjoying the spring sunshine today before the heavens opened upon the Minor that I see around a lot.
The skyline I spotted a week or so ago.

Re: Jean Smith passed away last night
So sorry to read such sad news.
Was always a pleasure to have worked with Jean who did so much for the club.
She will indeed be missed by the club, but most of all by her family to whom I extend the deepest of sympathies.

Re: Just seen this
My sister had her first wedding in St Paul de Vence. (Like me, she didn't learn her lesson and is on her second...)
Lovely part of the world.

A Spitfire enjoying some rare sun yesterday, and today an Escort and a Mini not afraid of the rain.

Re: New member advice
Good luck with the search. As Martin has suggested, join the club and in the first instance, have a look at plenty of (hopefully good) cars at meetings / shows / events. Even if the cars aren't for sale, members will be only too keen to discuss their cars help and point out the areas to check and so...

Re: Interceptor FF
Richie , Talking of pictures is the JIA actually done & complete ? The photograph looks a little bit rendered / AI ? John P It does look a bit rendered doesn't it, and, as far as I can tell, there's no pics of that car, or one even vaguely similar, on JIAs website. Very conspicuous by its absen...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Good info but reducing percentages doesn't of course mean absolute levels of CO2 aren't rising.

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Indeed, though there can be no doubt that the climate is changing far faster than geological causes alone. And whilst legislation such as various clean air acts had seen fewer toxic gasses released into the atmosphere, they've done nothing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions which have, and still are...

Re: Interceptor FF
The Viperceptor looks far more coherent to me too. I dare say that if one had the resources available, JIA could make a standard looking car with the revised mechanicals. The question for me is, what place will such restomod cars have in say 10 years time, when they're then neither classic nor moder...

Interceptor FF
Just in case this hasn't been posted here an Interceptor FF is now available. The rear wheels are driven by a GM V8, and the fronts by an electric motor each. Though completely academic for me as I sadly don't have anything like the recources available to consider one, but such restomods don't appea...

I assume you mean "True or False", in which case, thankfully the fake news story is / was merely click bait. It's false. https://croatian.leadstories.com/hoax-alert/2024/02/fact-check-eu-does-not-plan-to-ban-repair-of-cars-older-than-15-years.html https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.3472...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Apologies Colin, I thought your question was rhetorical. But if I were in the market for a new car, it would 100% be electric. So much much better to drive, so much more convenient, so much easier. I've no interest in converting classics to electric - I'm not really into the resto-mod thing at all -...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
My enjoyment of an EV is not based on anything 'woke' (which, incidentally means "enlightened") but, as I have repeatedly stressed, is entirely on its driving characteristics and convenience which i have thoroughly enjoyed over 45,000 miles; a convenience which, again, I have stressed I re...
