Re: SP Bonnet in USA
After so much interest in the wheels--- I took some shots this morning to let everyone check them out. The spare, marked with "S", has a ding on the lip, but otherwise needs only cosmetics. Thanks, Dave https://www.joc.org.uk/forum_images/albums/v336/marekV8/APEX_INTERCEPTOR/IMG_2417_zpseb...

Re: SP Bonnet in USA
Thanks for all of the kinds words-- at least I got four hours behind the wheel prior to the accident. https://www.joc.org.uk/forum_images/albums/v336/marekV8/APEX_INTERCEPTOR/2image-1.jpg https://www.joc.org.uk/forum_images/albums/v336/marekV8/APEX_INTERCEPTOR/2image-2.jpg The parts I have remaining...

SP Bonnet in USA
I have a nice original SP bonnet, once slated for my now-totaled Mk II, all crated up and ready to ship in the States-- should anyone be interested. It's got some minor surface rust around the louvers, but otherwise in great order. Also have a restored 8 track w/ JENSEN flap, MK II First Aid kit, be...

Thanks for all of the kind and supportive responses. When the ambulance arrived searching for the corpse, it took a bit of convincing for them to believe I was the driver-- without a single scratch or bump. As part of the restoration, I had the seat belts completely reworked with new webbing and ine...

FIRST DRIVE - AND LAST
This past Wednesday I picked up my Mark II from the shop in North Carolina, USA where it had been for over 20 months receiving a full mechanical and partial cosmetic restoration. I hit the road for a two day, 1,000+ plus mile trip back home (the first time I'd ever driven the car)-- but didn't make ...

Given how many times I've had to repair and repaint the fiberglass spoilers on my V8 and Montreal, I don't know that I'd want one made of metal. It does have a similar look to the one on my Aston, which is what attracted me to it. The shop had to add metal support rails to the edges, which serve as ...

Here's an image of how that front spoiler looks when installed. It took a bit of work to get it to fit properly (mainly because the car itself was slightly asymmetrical). I bought one when alerted to its existence by this thread, but the same seller makes them available from time to time. Dave https...

TOOL ROLL QUESTION
Hello, After searching for some time, I picked up a tool roll from a gent who was offering his Mk II for sale. Although the contents seem rather random (especially the three dissimilar King Dick screwdrivers), they actually matched the illustrative rendering in the parts book rather closely. Does an...

Wing Protectors
I picked up this set of branded wing covers last week. Does anyone here know if these were a factory item produced for authorized dealers or simply an aftermarket deal created by a company that made such items for all makes and models of the period? They seem too well made and model specific (even h...

Jack/Tools Questions
My Mark II Interceptor arrived sans tools, jack equipment and a fire extinguisher. I've been collecting and restoring jack parts for the last few months and have a few questions. https://www.joc.org.uk/forum_images/albums/v336/marekV8/APEX_INTERCEPTOR/jack_01.jpg I've ended up with two different sty...

Thanks for the kind words. I was pleasantly surprised at how accepting and interested the Stateside Mopar guys were in my project-- really a great group. They took my request to maintain a stock and understated appearance to heart and rather enjoyed the challenge of working around the restrictions. ...

Thank you. My late Mark II was fitted with the lower compression G-code 383 which wasn't ideal-- plus it had over 100,000 miles on it. I contacted Diamondback Engines, a Mopar specialist in Texas-- who suggested using a 400 CID block (same physical dimensions as the 383) as a base to build a 499 str...

It's taken almost six months, but the wheels are finally on. The hubs were removed and converted to the Mopar pattern for the install. The ride height will be corrected after the new (lighter) engine is installed. I'm just relieved that they fit at all. Sorry for the poor cell phone image: https://w...
