Re: Is Harry teasing us?

Got to say I like it even more now I've seen the video. Just wish JIA could take the bodywork to a higher level. That tailgate profile/gap...but boy, you wouldn't be thinking of that when you take it for a drive.

Off to write my letter to Santa.

Re: FBHVC Position Statement following Government announcement re 2030

Interesting that in paragraph 'a' it refers to historic vehicles over 30 years old whereas the govt car tax system only recognises cars 40 years and over as 'historic'.

Re: Really ?

Good point Keith. It was meant somewhat tongue in cheek but you're right. I hadn't thought to consider those facts.

Both resto costs are out of my league, I know that for sure.

Re: Really ?

I was watching Bangers and Cash this week which included a barn find Aston DB6 (which subsequently sold for £120k). The programme included a visit by a marque expert who was asked how much it would cost to completely restore the car. Answer: £300k (not including the price of the car). So on that bas...

Re: The new magazine - an apology

The latest magazine is an enjoyable read Leah. Congratulations. I also support your desire to build the brand (oh how the brand has been tarnished by companies talking down the quality of the original offering to try and elavate their own Jensen product). I must also congratulate you on walking the ...

Re: 1969 Mk1 FF-R supercharged

A hell of a lot of technical work and money has gone into that car for sure. Im sure it's an awesome drive. Would I like to own and drive it? Hell, yes. Having studied the pictures my attention was drawn to the sales blurb... 'It quickly becomes clear on a close study of the coachwork, panel fit and...

Jensen built, Aston Martin engined Volvo P1800

I saw this on social media. News to me. Volvo-Aston Martin In the early 60’s Aston Martin had plans to sell engines to other manufacturers but did not want to sell their six-cylinder engine and so developed a prototype four cylinder engine for that purpose, with a 2.5litre DOHC 150hp engine – projec...

Re: Are cars selling at this time?

In addition to what Chris has suggested, I'd consider putting an advert in one or more of the glossy car magazines ((Classic and Sports Car, Classic Cars, Octane). You'll need to give it 2 months to circulate around the world - but I'd hazard a guess you may find an overseas buyer wanting to buy int...

Re: FF Front Wheel Bearing Crushable Spacer

Many thanks Dave for taking the time to post the helpful advice - it's appreciated.

Unfortunately the link sends me to an erroneous page. A glitch with the new website I suspect...but will keep trying.

Thanks again.

FF Front Wheel Bearing Crushable Spacer

Anyone got an old stock unused example they're willing to sell to help get my car back on the road?

Apparently the examples currently being produced by Martin Robey aren't fit for purpose (they are the wrong diameter and also over power the hub nut before deforming).

Thanks.

Re: Well known MK2 - Collecting Cars

I saw this at Pale Classics a year or so ago. Given the amount of blood sweat and toil it must've taken to present such a clean and shiny car, then surely it must be a serious contender for a anyone wishing to buy into the world of concours. When I viewed it, I was left with the impression it was to...
