It’s the 1970s extension to our Parliament Buildngs, designed by Sir Basil Spence and known as the Beehive.
It contains all the Cabinet Ministers offices and the public reception areas.
I think only the saloons were assembled here. By far the majority were TCs (our family car for years) rather than PIs. They were extremely popular here - and the favoured car of late Prime Minister Sir Robert "Piggy" Muldoon, who drove his to Parliament every day. The vehicle register says...
Ah yes, but as well as the Cortina 4L, Ford Australia also made the Cortina 6L. Which had a 4.1 litre straight six engine from the standard Ford Falcon of the time.
