Sounds like a great event. Leonora is already planning. Too bad we have to show in a rental...

The passing of Robert Humphries

It is with a heavy heart that I inform the Jensen community that our friend Robert Humphries has passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in March this year. Robert was an avid car collector, with Jensen as his favorite marque. His beautifully restored Jensen Healey spent time in the San Diego automoti...

Bonneville 2019 and a T56

So far it looks like Ian is heading back to Bonneville this year for another try at 200mph in the CV-8. I am pulling the trigger on a Viper spec T56 transmission this afternoon so I can get it prepped and ready to go into his car. This replaces the Jag specced transmission that split wide open due t...

Re: Rebuild gets underway at last.....

Eric, The Edelbrock heads use a specific gasket from Fepro (7325?) and I do not modify them. Some people may enlarge the slots to help coolant flow in the heads, but I have never encountered a problem with over heating. The 7325 is an MLS gasket and if you do modify it you may compromise the gasket ...

Re: Rebuild gets underway at last.....

Very nice build! I really like your parts selection. It should make some very nice power! RE: oiling. The 1/2" Hemi pickup mods are a period improvement to retain oil at the back of the crank at high RPM. While this modification helps, it is by no means a total solution. I know :( as I picture ...

Re: Interceptor on BaT (East Coast USA)

John, The 6bbl manifold for the 383 is lower than the 440s and the throttle bodies are only 2 in tall. Our billet air cleaner adds about 2" to the total height. It should fit fine. That would be a nice upgrade, as in any restomod youll need a bigger alternator and a few more circuit brekers to ...

Re: Interceptor on BaT (East Coast USA)

John, Hope your installation is going well! Im here to help (now that Im back from Bonneville...) The system allows cruising on the center body only, effectively pushing the peak torque down about 700rpm for better drive ability and tune ability, sort of like the carbureted systems, only with a smoo...

Re: Worlds Fastest Jensen Help Wanted

Joerg, Bonneville is a wild place indeed! While Ians car did not demonstrate its true potential (The motor is very stout and a joy to tune) We did prove that the Jaguar spec'd 5 speed transmission is NOT capable of the power output of the 496 cu in Mopar. With a new transmission and smaller (non tur...

Re: Worlds Fastest Jensen Help Wanted

Ian (and Joerg) Work has been grinding me here in Cardiff by the Sea CA, but I am finally thinking about my vacation to England and Germany coming up in a few weeks. I believe we arrive at Heathrow on the 23rd and head to the Cotswolds for a few days of relaxation/touring, then to Beachy Head for a ...

Re: 74 J series 440 looking to improve MPG, heads off.

Just a bit about the six pack intake concept... The six pack intake in its 2plane configuration as found on the mopar design is actually a variable length intake runner system. Variable runner length can allow the optimization of the "ram effect" with respect to throttle position/ vacuum l...

Re: carb. size

Ray, The thermoquad was shipped in 2 different cfm ratings, both subject to some speculation. The "small" unit found on the 318 and 360 "cop" motors was rated somewhere between 750 and 850 cfm while the big unit found on 440 was 850-1000cfm "advertised" rating. It doesn...
