Re: International Weekend 2024
To reiterate the above, if you want to come to a UK based event this year, the 541 event in Shaftesbury and Haynes motor Museum is open to all Jensen enthusiasts. There are still a small number of rooms left at the hotel and the Sunday event at Haynes is unrestricted regarding attendees- just turn u...

Re: Two 541R projects for sale on ebay
I have similar records to Jim - some of the photos are very similar if not identical to those used in the 2018 advert. It is definitely the same workshop! Ch 308 is a DS7 car and 379 is a DS5. The photo below shows ch 308 with its original registration plate (SYL 616) on the left: MB01.JPG the middl...

Re: Jensen bodied 1950 Invicta Black Prince auction
I seem to remember that there is something very unusual and complicated about the original gearbox fitted to these cars. I will have to try and dig out the article from the automobile about 3 or so years ago. The extracts from an on line article below relate to a similar chassis design with non Jens...

Re: Foldable engine hoist - recommendations
Stuart, please make sure that the crane you choose has enough capacity at full reach. The centre of gravity when lifting both engine and longitudinal gbox together will be not be far from the bulkhead and the reach of a small crane when lifting a significant weight diminishes rapidly. Those 240s hav...

Re: Rear handbrake assembly fork
All the 541 (DL, R, S) that I have worked on have a different fixing arrangement for the retraction forks with 2 holes rather than the thicker tab opposite the forks… saying that, there are very few DLs that have not been modified over the years to take square friction pads, so perhaps the earliest ...

Re: Orange plastic empty fuel
was the original part threaded? if so, they look very similar to those fitted to an MGTF - see below (I know it is blue, (red and green also available) but other cars from this era may have use yellow/amber)

Re: 26th, 27th and 28th July 2024, Jensen 541 70th Birthday Weekend,

All is coming together and the hotel inform us that they have 26 rooms already booked by Jensen enthusiasts. This only leaves 6 rooms left in the hotel. If you are thinking about coming and wa...

Hi, there are some sketches, not by Eric Neale sadly, but they appear to be by a Jensen draughtsman for an early magazine article. You can buy copies from JOC regalia

Re: First Registration number ?
Hi Paul, what is the chassis number? With this someone will be able to look up the information in one of the Richard Calver books (first reg number may be listed, but is not listed for every car)
