The Jensen Owners Club will be attending the 2020 Le Mans Classic; next year's event will be the tenth bi-annual Le Mans Classic. The Le Mans Classic is probably the most popular historic racing event in the world attracting over 100,000 spectators, 8000 classic cars and 500 historic race cars and their drivers.

The event will adhere to the Le Mans 24 hour tradition and start at 16.00 hours on Saturday 4th July and finish on Sunday 5th July at 16.00 hours. The race features historic endurance race cars from the 1920s to 1970s, many of which raced at Le Mans in period. Competing cars are classified into 6 age related Plateaus (grids). Each Plateau races for an hour in rotation, and this is then repeated 4 times over the 24 hours. The cumulative furthest travelled distance in each Plateau determining the winner of each Plateau.

Our party will depart from Portsmouth by ferry early on Thursday 2nd July 2020 and drive to Alençon where we will stay at overnight and enjoy a group evening meal (hotel TBA).

We will drive to Le Mans on Friday morning, and camp at the circuit for two nights. On Friday and Saturday evenings there will be a group barbeque and perhaps the odd beer!

Whilst at the circuit, there is much to see and view with many shows and displays, so have a look at www.lemansclassic.com
The weekend is relaxed with members and their families setting their own agenda. Having said this, 'Camp Jensen' is a hospitable place to be, and many a lasting friendship has been made here over the years. In 2014, sixty three members and their families attended, many regulars having attended routinely every two years.

After the race has finished on Sunday, we will drive to Caen and stay overnight (hotel TBA). Again we will have an organised group evening meal. We will depart early Monday morning for our return to Portsmouth at about 13.00 hours.

Costs are likely to be about £900 per car including 2 persons. Cost includes ferry, two overnight accommodations and evening meals, camping pitch, general admission, paddock pass and grandstand seating. Track laps and picnic hampers are extra. Ferry and hotel costs not available yet, will be updated here when available.

Shaun Winfield and I keep saying we want to extend the trip to take in the Normandy battlefields and the Manoir de l'Automobile at Lohéac, so for 2020 we will extend the trip to the following weekend. A number of people have already said they would like to do this, if you are interested please let us know. Some people are actually missing the racing at Le Mans and then joining us again for Normandy so this is an option.

The event will be oversubscribed, and so if you are interested in attending could you please let me know as soon as possible.

If you would like to have a chat about the event, please call me on 07917 860 130 after 20.00 hours (weekdays) or you can e-mail me at:
