I have owned SNZ8, formally VJW 266G since13/05/87

Chassis number 115/3090

Engine number 1255 15D

Engine date code 6 10 2

mileage 60,000

As you can see she is a work in progress

Purchased as an exceptional condition light metallic blue car she was my everyday use car for 5 years

time has taken its toll, but all floorpans and inner structures are original rust free

I have replaced both door skins ,N/S rear wing outer sills and lower rear valance

mechanical issues with brakes and front suspension forced me to garage her in 1992

since then many modifications have been carried out, this is my hobby

To date front suspension and crossmember removed new crossmember with tubular upper and lower A arms, coil over shocks,ZF power steering and wilwood brakes installed all fully adjustable to optimise geometry rear differential removed and replaced with custom build Moser 60 imported from USA,

3.54 gear ratio helical gear traction lock, 40mm forged axles, custom brackets to mount to re-profiled rear springs, relocated rear shocks, new panhard bar and mounts and brackets wilwood  brakes with integral parking brake wilwood master cylinder and proportioning valve.

Engine original 383 block stroked to 496, edelbrook heads, crane cam , holley manifold Msd atomic fuel injection, msd ignition.

4 row crossflow alloy radiator hjgh volume pump

deep sump and windage tray to clear stroker, oil filter back on oil pump as chrysler intended, new crossmember allowed this

727 gearbox rebuilt with all right parts to handle power,

3 inch custom propshaft with 1350 u joints

electrical

all new 18way fuseboard with 180 amp gm alternator no Jensen wiring left

The car is coated with PPG 2 stage epoxy primer polished with WD40 it will be returned to original colour soon and then retrimmed.

I have a vortec supercharger kit for a 440 that I have modified to fit but will not use on this engine as compression  is too high at 11.2 to 1

so i will use a 1970 383 block and the forged crank and rods from my original 383 and build a new engine one day as the vortec fits under the bonnet.

car has remained roadworthy for past 15 years and is only laid up for short periods while being worked on.

many thanks for all your hard work in maintaining the register

Stuart Z
