  1. Radiator Grill Totally stripped to component parts, removed all traces of paint and polished with wire wool to leave clean smooth ally. undercoat halfords grey primer, topcoat, halfords satin black. Kept the edges (5 of) clean at each stage, then i covered with clear laquer (3/4 coats) to build up resistance to chipping, if laquer chipped nobody will know. Will let you know how it stands up to the abuse of the open road. The 1st attempt had the opposite edges clear ally, as in nos 1,3,5,7,9,11. But i prefer how it is now with the even nos unpainted. If you were serious about it though, i suppose it could be powder coated, but chipping on a front grill cant be avoided forever.
