Note from Richard Calver on the Forum Jan 2018

Just to be clear, there are three cars connected in this confusion.

2865, the Queensland car, was first registered in Australia in Victoria in 1974 as IKJ 400. As you can see, it has since fallen on hard times and is now a major project for someone brave and cashed up.

2685 is in the USA. I have it down as having been sold into Las Vegas in 1996. It had the plate BB-JP-722 associated with it prior to that time, so I assume it came out of Europe. As can be seen, it is also a major restoration project.

2865 (v2) was advertised in the UK in 2016 as a Quartz car plated as WGU 656F. Like the others above, it had a Black interior. It was basically all together and presentable, asking £8250 as a restoration job with some parts missing. The DVLA shows it as a green car (which is more or less how Quartz would show up) on the road in June 1968 (which is correct for 2865).

When it comes to two cars which purport to have the same serial number, I would look for an explanation based on fact, and in so doing would TNC.

I had caused confusion but linking 2856 and 2685
