Hi

My company has just come into possession of a very nice Jensen Interceptor, and I was wondering if anyone could help me find out something about its history?

The VIN is 1152920.

Hope you can help!

First of all I'm wondering about the basics, is the car produced in Italy or England? I can't find what date they moved the production to Engand.

And our car has a folding fabric sunroof from Webasto, is this original or something that an owner has put in afterwards?

The only thing I know right now is the VIN and that it's a 1968 model, this is a whole new world for me. (And I have to emphasize that I'm not the owner, I just got this job finding out more about it

"It's a left hand drive, and it's been in sweden since 1989. I'll post some pictures of it so you can have look."

Then the chassis number you have is wrong. 115 prefix is right hand drive, for lhd we used 117 on Mk1 cars. This car could be one of several imported into Sweden by a well known rogue who changed the identities of several cars. It may be possible to check the correct number by removing the door panels where you should find the correct number written on the back.

Wow, that was very interesting. We have actually just started renovating the car, so on monday we can remove the door panels and have a look. Do you know more exactly where we can find the number?

And I'll start referring our cars as classics from now on. We don't have any more Jensens I'm afraid, but a variety of other cars. Jaguar, Aston Martin, Maserati among others.
